Thomas the Tank Engine goes Digital and gets a voice!
It is a known fact that most KIDS WITH AUTISM LOVE THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE. It’s also true that a lot of these kids have a hard time dealing with change. Well, here comes a big heaping dose of change. The next Thomas, Hero of the Rails, won’t employ the stop motion techniques used to create the show since the 1980s. Another big change, Thomas gets a voice. In place of the celebrity narrator, Thomas will actually talk.
I suspect my daughter will like the new one better. Here’s a sneak peak …

Hero of the Rails is a feature-length movie based on the television series Thomas and Friends.It was released in the US on September 8th, 2009, and is set to be released on October 12th, 2009 in the UK. The movie introduces full CGI animation made by the Canadian “Nitrogen Studios“, and the introduction of a voice cast (Not counting the Magic Railroad).
Summary: Thomas discovers an old Japanese engine named Hiro and sets out to restore him to his former glory with the help of Kevin, Victor and the rest of the engines, while keeping their secret from Spencer and the Fat Controller.
