Rush Limbaugh Retard Summit

Rush is making a run at the most ignorant title.  He joins the ranks of Michael (Alan Weiner) Savage and Dennis Leary with this one.

Rush Limbaugh: ‘There’s Going to Be a Retard Summit at the White House’

  1. Seriously? He was making fun of Obama’s chief of Staff, Rham Emanuel calling fellow Democrats “F….ing retards.” Rush was slamming him for it and being sarcastic.

Please direct your anger at the person who meant it, Rham Emanuel.

  2. When will reporters learn to report news instead of creating it. In this case, they created the news. They never reported the Rahm Emanuel statement until Palin brought it up. Now thye are trying to turn it around and make palin and Limbaugh the bad guys. I suggest anyone wanting to know the truth go read Limbaugh’s transcript.

  3. Seems like you too partisan to see that Rush was not just quoting.

“But our politically correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are “retards,” “retards.”

“Now, Emanuel is taking his contrition one step farther — hosting a delegation of advocates, including two people with mental disabilities, at the White House.” They’re going to have a “Retard” Summit just like they had the Beer Summit. ”

  4. Mr. Limbaugh was NOT “slamming” Mr. Emanuel, he was defending him. Mr. Limbaugh detests political correctness; he frequently makes fun of what he sees as the liberalization of America by using non-offensive words. He clearly stated that Mr. Emanuel had done nothing wrong and did not need to apologize for “calling a bunch of retards retards.”
As an advocate for people with disabilities, I always bristle when I hear the word, can’t stand when I hear it bandied about, and it galls me that Ms. Palin has jokingly (privately) referred to her own child as her retarded baby and then defended Mr. Limbaugh when he called a White House meeting with Special Olympics representatives a “retard summit.” Politics and political correctness aside, that kind of name calling is reprehensible.

  5. I love the fact that the rightwingers insist he was quoting Emanual, when the actual phrases show that he was complaining about people being “politically correct” and avoiding the epithet, which he clearly loves to use as an insult. Rightwingers, you guys are re … re … Republicans.
