We are thinking about getting a Kinect controller to go with our XBOX 360 and I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the best games for kids with autism?

On a trip to New York City this week, we visited The Jekyll and Hyde Club. Touted as family fun, the place was over-stimulation city. We didn’t have a lot of problems, other than when the Zeus statue came alive and his green eyes flashed; but most ASD kids would have major meltdown in this place. There is a show every 30 minutes where Jekyll transforms into Mr. Hyde and threatens to slit everyone’s throat in the restaurant, which was a nice touch.

Aside from the fact that Thomas the Tank Engine may feel a little ripped off and have Sir Topham Hat’s lawyers on the case, this looks like a great series for teaching kids with autism about emotions. The general feel of the series is Thomas with REAL FACES. It has long been know that shows like Thomas the Tank Engine and Jay Jay the Jet Plane put kids with autism under their spell. You may as well use it for some advantage, like teaching emotions.
