It looks like the bottleneck in the Senate was broken and the funding for the Combating Autism Act will flow.

WASHINGTON — The Senate sent President Barack Obama a bill Monday night to extend federal autism programs after Sen. Bob Menendez reached an agreement with a Republican senator who had been blocking the measure.

I wish there was some accepted and quantifiable scale that we could all use when discussing individuals diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.  It is so frustrating to see a kid who bangs his head and spins all day everyday and a higher functioning person with Aspergers, both lumped into AUTISM.  This is the root of many disagreements and feuds over autism that permeate the Internet.  People are not talking Apples and Oranges.

How will Health Care Reform impact Autism Spectrum Disorders?
