Autism x 6: Six Pack of Kids with Autism is a full time job for Kirton family

I watched “Autism x 6″ on the Discovery Health Channel this week. If you have a kid or kids with autism, it’s worth watching for some perspective. John & Robin Kirton have 6 children under the age of 14 on the autism spectrum. They are truly all over the spectrum, full blown autism, asperger, and PDD-NOS.
They didn’t go into a lot of detail about what John and Robin do for money, but those folks need some help. An assistant or housekeeper of some kind would be a big help. Their house looked like a bomb went off and I can totally understand. We have one kid with PDD-NOS and ours often looks pretty bad at times. I can barely comprehend six kids. The Extreme Makeover Home Edition should pay a visit to the Kirtons ASAP!
John and Robin are pretty amazing for the simple fact that they have not gone insane.
It didn’t look like they were doing any biomedical intervention, but they didn’t go into a lot of detail about treatments. The show focused more on surviving. I would love to know more about how they keep their marriage together, pay for treatments, and handle their finances. I realize that I may be a little biased, but this would make a great reality show.
