Possible Autism Cause #872737: BISPHENOL A (BPA) in baby bottles, etc.?

I am not saying that Bisphenol A in plastics alone or combined with one of the bazillion other toxins we ingest; causes autism or any other neurological disorders, just if it did we would never know.  Just imagine if it was a vaccine ingredient + BPA.  We might figure that out in the next few hundred years at this rate.  Just thinking about all of this makes me want to go have a on Rocket Fuel the rocks!

Denis Leary = A-Hole Extraordinaire

It looks like Michael Savage has a little competition in the “Biggest A-Hole” category.  Sad.  Unlike Michael Savage, I actually was a fan of Mr. Leary and expected more.  Talk about clueless.  Denis Leary is welcome to come stay at our house for a few days if he would like to be less of a moron on this topic.  Great title for his new book.  At least we know why Denis Leary Sucks!

Autism Retort v8

I have tried on MULTIPLE occasions to create a website that brings all of the best of autism blogging to one page.  This is as much for my own benefit as anything.  Currently, I am playing around with a couple of versions.  The general idea of both of these is a place for all of the latest autism news and blogging from all sides, not just those that I agree with now days.  Both of these formats are up.  Stop by, check them out, bookmark the site(s), and share with your friends and family in the autism community.

Grandmother Chef and Autism Grandparents

Caroline and mommy have gone on a church trip with grandmother and daddy is all alone.  I thought I would enjoy some ME time, but it’s getting old after just a day.  I watched all the football that I could stand on Sunday and am ready for everyone to come home.

What are they smoking at the New Britain Connecticut School District and why is Michelle Campbell still teaching?

I am all for innocent until proven guilty, but not at the expense of the safety of the children.  Why is this teacher still in contact with students?  I can understand keeping her on the payroll until the justice system does its job, but commonsense would dictate not allowing her to teach.  We’ve all seen police officers get put on a “desk job” until things get sorted out so that a dangerous person doesn’t remain in a position of authority or endanger other citizens.  I guess if you are in special education, you are on your own.  Maybe she is/was a good teacher and snapped under the stress.   That’s still no excuse and if so, she needs to find a new career.  Some reports say that parents reported the incident, others that another teacher did.  Lots of these kids cannot speak for themselves, so it is imperative that schools do everything they can to protect them. If there is any chance that this teacher “slapped” or abused a kid or kids with autism, she doesn’t need to be in the classroom.  Period.  One would think that being charged with 7 felonies would warrant keeping her away from the kids until the matter is settled.

Sorry, Mr. Trump

Dear Donald Trump, While we did enjoy staying in your nice hotel, we are sorry about the 3 bars of luxury soap that Caroline flushed down the toilet creating the mother of all clogs.  The last two bars were still in the plastic so they were not dissolving anytime soon as daddy had hoped.  It was not pretty.  We let them know about it right before checkout and they said they would “send up an engineer.”  I am pretty sure that this was related to “Finding Nemo” which we had just watched.  In the movie, they state that “all drains lead to the ocean” and I guess Caroline was testing this theory with the soap.

Broadway Meets PDD-NOS

We saw The Lion King on Broadway last night and Caroline was great!  She was very captivated by the entire performance and even got in on the act.  She imitated one of the “African vocals” and the whole place laughed.  It was dead quite when she let out an African vocalization.  It was great.

Gun Safety and Autism in the News

There is a very sad story in the news this week related to the death of a 4 year old boy with autism.  This seems to be more of an issue of gun safety than an autism issue since plenty of kids without autism meet the same fate.  A safety would not slow down most kids with autism.
