Autism in Bill Clinton Speech

I am really not a fan of either political party these days, but I was glad to hear President Clinton say this tonight in his speech to the Democratic National Convention.  It is very sad to think of all the kids out there unable to reach their potential because of family finances or insurance.  Some of these families are in financial straights because of things beyond their control, and some are there because the could use a Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover.  In either case, the kids are the ones who suffer.  How many of these kids could be “the comeback kid” in their own life if not for money?

DAT is BS! Dolphin Assisted Therapy

I’ve seen a lot of talk of late concerning “Dolphin Assisted Therapy (DAT)” for kids with autism and other neurological conditions.  Don’t believe the hype that you hear about this “therapy.”  While it may be fun, your therapy dollars would be better spent elsewhere.

Methyl-B12 in Autism

We have been doing the Methyl-B12 shots for several months, and I must say that in my own humble opinion, it is the best bang for the buck in biomedical treatments.  If you are doing MB-12, drop me a line and let me know how it is going for you.

Wendy Portillo to be voted out herself?

I cannot comprehend how this school district could have much to contemplate in this case.  I realize that lawyers complicate things, but this lady has no business teaching any kids, special needs or not if she lacks the empathy needed for such a job, which she apparently does.  I vote that they fire her which I suspect would have already happened if not for the lawyers.  Vote Wendy off the island!

10 Yr Old with Autism wanders off from school without anyone noticing!

This story is short of details, but someone was for sure not doing their job at Starlight Cove Elementary in Lantana, FL.   “We made a mistake and we have corrected it” is the understatement of the day.

Our daughter has someone with her when she leaves the Special Ed. class and this was discussed at length during our I.E.P.  I can only imagine that Josephs mom raised holy heck with these folks or I hope so.

Tear Jerker Autism Grandparents Story at AOA

Tear-jerker of a story at Age of Autism …

Grandparents and Autism. One Daughter’s Story.

Managing Editor’s Note: We probably all have at least one Grandparent/autism story. I hope you’ll share yours in our comment section. Some grandparents are a source of strength, comfort and and even financial assistance. Others are a brickwall of lack of understanding. Thanks to Sally, who is a Generation Rescue Rescue Angel for sharing her story with me earlier this summer.

Autism Cure or Bigfoot? Which is more elusive?

I wish curing autism got as much attention as a Bigfoot suit with some dentures added.

If you haven’t seen the internet sensation, Sasquatch on Ice, some hoaxsters in Georgia with the help of known faker / Big Foot Researcher and P.T. Barnum wanna-be, Thomas Biscardi, claim to have found a body. It appears that this”corpse” is nothing more than a Bigfoot suit with some false teeth.  I have to give it to these guys for originality, here’s the suspected Bigfoot suit. There’s probably a grandma or grandpa in that family looking for their false teeth right about now.
