I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with Rolf and must say it was a big surprise to run into him at the recent National Autism Association Conference. In college, Rolf and I were in the same fraternity and we chatted some about those carefree days. We really didn’t really appreciate at the time just how care-free care-free can be back then. Rolf and Angela were rock stars of sorts at the conference thanks to their case, Hazlehurst v. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Case No. 03-654V, chosen as the second test case in the joint proceeding known as. the Omnibus Autism Proceeding.

Studies have suggested that computer use can help to calm children on the autistic spectrum, while stimulating their ability to communicate. Autistic children may prefer interaction with a computer interface because they can actively control it, and therefore communication through this medium may be less threatening than face-to-face conversation.

OK, I am not really a fan, but Hillary Clinton is talking about Autism which sure can’t hurt. While campaigning in the battleground of Iowa this weekend, Hillary threw a $700 million bone to the Autism community. If Autism Parents in Iowa find babysitters, they may remember Hil favorably on Caucus Day. Does Barrack Obama have an Autism Plan? Edwards? Romney? Rudy? Ron Paul?

Don’t get me wrong, in my personal opinion, Dems and Repubs are equally worthless, but Kristina Chew does a nice job breaking it down. President Bush tries to have it both ways. When the Dems spend like drunken sailors, he says they act like a college kid with a new credit card. When he spends like a drunken sailor, anyone who disagrees with him is giving in to terrorists.
